WHAT IS THE STORY BEHIND THE STRAPHANGER?

I wanted to be able to reach the overhead rails during busy commutes instead of free surfing the subway & being stuck in between my fellow commuters' armpits. 

HOW DO I USE IT?

Unfold your Straphanger, hold the hard part of the handle, and latch onto existing overhead rails and #pleaseholdon! Silicone interior grips prevent slippage and an added bonus is that It also helps keep the subway pole germs off your hands. To remove, do the reverse. 

HOW DURABLE IS IT?

The Straphanger is designed to withstand many stressors and bear some weight (please contact us if you can any questions about durability). It is not recommended to use The Straphanger as a medical device / aid.

Please exercise common sense when using the product - meaning no showtimes ☺ 

WHAT IS IT MADE OUT OF AND WHY?

The Straphanger is made with durable polycarbonate with nappa leather straps and painted brass hardware. We decided to use these materials primarily for their durability. It was important to us to make an item with a long product lifespan to prevent goods from ending up in a landfill one day.

Our goal for RARO is to create useful objects while focusing on intentional production by not overproducing, reduce waste through ways of repurposing, and operate with transparency throughout the process. We're always striving to find the best ways to do this and we welcome feedback and suggestions.

CAN I CLEAN IT?

Yes - you can clean the hard handle with warm soapy water. Do not submerge. Please refrain from getting water on the leather handles to prevent staining. Gently wipe down leather with a cloth if needed.

DOES IT FIT ON ALL SUBWAY RAILS?

The handle has an interior diameter of 10.5 CM. It has not been tested on all subways / public transportation - please check your own public transport system before purchasing The Straphanger if you are unsure. 


DO YOU OFFER RETURNS / EXCHANGES?

We accept returns on all full-priced products in their original condition, undamaged and unused, within 7 days of your purchase. Returns meeting these conditions will be issued a full refund (excluding shipping costs) to the original form of payment. Please note that the customer is responsible for all return shipping costs at this moment. Please email returns@raronewyork.com with your order number in order to initiate the return process.

We are currently unable to provide exchanges due to the small nature of our business. Please process a return first and then repurchase the item.

We will happily replace any defective merchandise. Please contact us at returns@raronewyork.com within 7 days of receipt of item to qualify for repair or exchange.

DOMESTIC SHIPPING

All orders are processed immediately and will ship within a few days of order confirmation. You should receive a separate email with a tracking link. Please allow 24-48 hours for the link to become active. 

Once we release the package to the shipping agent, we cannot be responsible for any lost or stolen packages. However, we will help you correspond with the agent to solve any difficulties as best we can. 

We ship domestically without signature confirmation, and it is up to the discretion of the delivery person whether to leave the package if there is no one home to accept it. If this is a  concern, please provide us with an alternate shipping address if you work during the day or do not anticipate being home to receive your order.

On occasion our shipping system may flag certain addresses as invalid or incomplete. When this occurs we will contact the you prior to shipping to confirm the address. Please note that any packages returned to us due to incorrect address will be subject to a reshipping fee. 

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

We offer international shipping on our online store. Unfortunately we are not able to provide shipping estimates over email, but our shipping cost is calculated automatically when items are in the cart. All our shipping costs are determined by shipping zone, as well as volumetric and actual weight. Customers are responsible for any duties or import fees in addition to shipping pricing.
